Hi, I'm

Joan

I'm an undergraduate physics student at LMU Munich. I spent high school running observational cosmology projects before a year of university physics pulled me toward theory instead. A turning point was a classical mechanics lecture with Prof. von Delft. Here you can find what I am working on now, essays and ideas, and a few other things I care about.

Research

My work so far has mostly been in observational cosmology — supernova photometry, gamma-ray bursts, the Cepheid distance ladder — and I'm now spending my summer on a self-study project in dynamical dark energy, working up from gauge theory and Lie groups.
